Art for the Children
“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” -Albert Einstein
“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” -Albert Einstein
We are so excited about the wonderful kid’s activities and opportunities for children to express their artistic side at Colorfest 2021! MAPA wishes to inspire creativity, advance education, and connect the community to the arts by providing an opportunity for young artists to promote and demonstrate their artistic abilities.
Children are invited to stop by our Kids Art Activity booth located in the shady Brow Woods area at the north end of the festival, which offers youngsters the opportunity to create their own Colorfest tree. The Kids Art Activity booth is presented by Skelton Orthodontics and will remain open from 10 AM to 3 PM each day of the festival.
Elementary-aged kids have the chance to win prizes by using their creative abilities to complete the Colorfest coloring page that has been handed out to local schools. If your child would like to enter, you can download the coloring page here. The winners will be announced on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and their artwork will be on display during the festival.
Middle and high school students have been invited to exhibit their artwork at Colorfest, so stop by that booth to see the photography, ceramics, painting, drawing, jewelry, mixed media, and graphic design achieved by our talented, dedicated, and hardworking students enrolled in Fort Payne Middle School, Fort Payne High School, and Valley Head High School.
